Climate change has become an inescapable emergency event for the world. Taiwan is an island and not boarding any other countries but still under the mercy of earth environment. The academia in Taiwan has poured in resources in the research of climate change in Taiwan particularly on the issues regarding temperatures and rainfalls. However because of the interaction among all meteorological factors in the earth’s atmosphere other meteorological factors are equally important if not more in the study of and formulation of strategy against climate change. In light of the situation, Sinotech Foundation for Research & Development of Engineering Sciences & Technologies and Taiwan Association of Disaster Prevention Industry are working together on the serial research of climate change in Taiwan and conduct the historical data analysis of meteorological factors in Taiwan. The result will be public available and provide necessary information for government and private industries in devising strategies against climate change. For private industries the result can also be used for development of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) related activities. It is the second phase of a serial researches on meteorological factors for climate change in Taiwan. In the first phase the research on wind speed was completed in 2022. In this phase for the benefit of green energy development in Taiwan the meteorological factor of solar irradiance is studied.
